The 'Good, Clean, Fun' Blog

In our quest to be as eco-friendly as possible here at Woohoo Body we’ve had to make a couple of compromises. So today we thought we’d have a chat about the “why” behind our cardboard packaging, and give you a few tips and tricks to help you get the hang of it.

Perhaps you’re a surfer, or a swimmer? Heck, even if you’re not an ocean lover, surely you’re interested in freeing the planet of pollution? You know, for the greater good and all. With a little thought, we can all do our bit for the environment. Take the ‘Seabin Project’, for example

No, we’re not asking whether you have mould in the bottom of the shower (do you!?). Your bathroom should be a stress-free space and by making it greener (we don’t mean a new paint job!) you can relax in the knowledge you’re reducing your bills and also helping the planet while sprucing up your digs. Go you!
It has been action stations here in Happy Land because this week we have a world-record-breaking 8 (!!!) new products for you to indulge in. No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. 8 new Happy babies have been born.
A few weeks ago we dropped a few hints about changes that were on the way, and if you’re on the ball you might have noticed a few of these changes start to creep into reality… ;) We’ve quietly been working away at introducing a few very special new ways of packaging our best selling Happy creations.

When we first started Woohoo we didn’t actually realise the impact that one little (getting bigger!) brand could have on the environment, but with growth comes a lot of responsibility, and that's not something we take lightly. We don’t actually talk about this much, but we’re a member of a really cool organisation called 1% For The Planet. So today we’re going to shout about it from the rafters.

There’s some pretty heavy stuff going down right now so we wanted to take some time to share some good news and some not-so-good news. Things in the Aussie recycling world aren’t all rosy at the moment. We don’t actually have the facilities in Australia to recycle a lot of the plastics that we’re using, and right now we don’t really have anyone to recycle them for us either.
No matter what kind of packaging you use - even if it is plastic free (like glass bottles) - you need to make sure it’s being recycled properly. If it’s not, then it just means more landfill and more strain on the environment. And that’s the complete opposite of what we’re trying to achieve!

“Plastic Free” - it’s the word on the tip of everyone’s tongue right now - especially since someone somewhere dubbed this month “Plastic Free July”. You probably wouldn’t believe us if we told you how many times we go to bed talking about this. And wake up, still talking about it. We probably talk about it in our sleep :)

Have you ever taken a moment to consider that plastic has become one of the most harmful materials to our environment?

You might not really be bothered by this fact but in the grand scheme of things, it creates both short term and long term effects, and will no doubt have hideous effects on future generations to come if we don’t step up and do something about it.

Do you remember that feeling you got just before your school report card was handed over to your parents? Well, we thought that was one feeling that could be put into the “ancient history” bucket, but when the results were ready to read from our big Happy Survey the self doubt butterflies were back with a vengeance.

This little doosie has been twisting our brains into pretzels for a while so we need to let it out. It’s all about us trying to be as eco-friendly as we possibly can. Why? Because that’s what you (our very clever and eco-conscious friends) have been asking for.
